JG Sports Media’s latest audio interview guest is the president of the Cobourg & District Sports Hall of Fame…Ross Quigley.

In this interview, we discuss how the Sports Hall of Fame came about, the amount of memorabilia collected, what makes this hall of fame different and how much work that entails.

A new website, http://www.cobourgsports.ca, is coming soon and will spotlight the history of sports through the years in Cobourg and district, which includes the townships of Alnwick/Haldimand, Cramahe and Hamilton as well as Alderville First Nation.

Ross also talks about the inaugural inductees in 2019 – Layton Dodge, Paul Currelly, Fred Dufton, Don Ito, Marty Kernaghan, Bill O’Neil, Frank Mazza and Steve Smith – and this year’s class that includes Gord Brooks, Neil Cane, Kevin Fast, Margaret Anne Matthews, Dan Milligan, Fred Simpson, Ken Petrie and Clarke Sommerville.

NOTE: While we wait for local sports to return following the COVID-19 pandemic, a big part of JG Sports Media’s website content will be audio interviews, like this one.

Guests will include representatives from local sports organizations as well as other notable guests, many who have ties to this area and even some who don’t.
